3.695 Commission records confidential

When a Commission looks into a matter, the files and records it keeps are kept private. People outside the process generally cannot see them. The information can only be shared in a few specific situations: when the Commission itself needs it to do its job, when the Board needs it, when the person affected by the records asks for them, or when the Kentucky Supreme Court orders it to be shared.

There is one key exception to this privacy rule. If a member submits information to the Commission as part of asking for relief from certain requirements, that specific information is not treated as confidential. This means that particular application information could become available in ways that other Commission records would not be.

In short, this rule protects most Commission records from public view, but it makes sure people can still get access when they have a real need tied to the process, and it carves out an exception for information tied to relief applications.
