XIX App. A R. 5 Signing Orders, Reports, and Communications

When a disciplinary board makes a decision, that decision often needs to be put in writing and signed. This rule says that just one member of a panel can sign documents like orders, recommendations, reports, or letters on behalf of the whole panel. The same goes for the full board: one board member can sign on behalf of the entire board.

However, the person signing can't just act on their own. Before they sign, they need to get the okay from every other member of the panel or board. This makes sure that the document really does reflect what the whole group agreed to, even though only one person puts their name on it.

For people involved in a disciplinary case, this means an official document with just one signature still carries the full weight of the panel or board's decision. It's not just one person's opinion. It means everyone on that panel or board signed off on the content, even if only one signature appears.
