Art. 1181 Adoption records

When someone files an adoption case, the court clerk has to keep a special, separate list just for adoption cases. This list is kept apart from other types of court records.

The clerk must index each adoption case in two ways. First, by the name of the person or people who filed the adoption petition. Second, by the name of the child who is being adopted.
