Art. 1187 Court records of proceedings

Adoption cases are kept private by law. This means nobody can look at the court records from an adoption case unless a judge gives written permission first. The court controls who gets to see these files, and access isn't automatic just because someone asks.

This rule also means the details of an adoption case can't be published or shared publicly. The goal is to protect the privacy of everyone involved, including the child, the birth parents, and the adoptive parents. If you need access to adoption records for a legal reason, you'll have to ask the court directly and explain why you need them.
