Art. 1266 Hearing

Here's what this rule means in plain terms:

When someone asks the court for limited visitation rights during an adoption case, the court will schedule a hearing on that request. The adoptive parents must be included in this hearing and given the chance to respond. This is called a "contradictory hearing," which just means both sides get to show up, present their views, and argue their case in front of the judge.

This rule protects the adoptive parents by making sure they have a say before any visitation rights are decided. They cannot be left out of the process. If someone wants visitation with the child (such as a grandparent or biological relative), the adoptive parents get official notice and a fair chance to agree or object at the hearing.
