Art. 671 Applicability

When a child gets placed into the custody of a child care agency during a "child in need of care" case, this section of the law kicks in and applies to that situation. It doesn't matter when this happens during the case, whether it's near the beginning, middle, or later on. As soon as a child care agency takes custody of the child, these rules automatically come into play.

This rule basically acts as a trigger. It makes sure the same legal protections and requirements apply consistently, no matter what stage the case is at when the child ends up in agency custody. Parents, caseworkers, and others involved in the case should know that placing a child with a child care agency isn't a separate legal track. It stays connected to the same set of rules that govern the entire child in need of care process.
