Art. 790 Notice of modification

When a judge changes a disposition order for a child's case, everyone involved needs to be told about it in writing. The court will send out a copy of the minute entry, which is the official record showing what changed.

This notice has to go to several people: the person who filed the original petition, the child, the child's parent, and anyone or any agency that has custody of the child. This makes sure everyone affected by the change knows what the new order says and can act on it.

The point of this rule is simple. If custody arrangements or other parts of a child's case change, all the people responsible for the child need to know right away. Without proper notice, someone could end up following an old order that no longer applies.
