Art. 861 Access to evidence; reports

This rule gives a child the right to see the evidence and information being used in their case. If someone writes a report about moving the child's case (called a transfer), the child has the right to read that report too.

The child also gets the same discovery rights that apply under Article 866. Discovery means getting copies of documents, reports, and other evidence that the other side plans to use. This helps make sure the child and their lawyer know what information is being considered before any decisions are made about the case.

In short, this rule makes sure nothing important happens behind closed doors. The child gets a fair chance to see the same reports and evidence that the court will look at, especially when it comes to decisions about transferring their case.
