Art. 917 Expungement and sealing; generally

If you have a juvenile record from a case under this part of the law, there is only one way to get it expunged or sealed. This rule says the steps laid out in this chapter are the only steps you can use. You cannot go around them or use some other process to clear or hide your record.

This matters because it means courts and record holders have to follow the same set of steps every time someone asks to expunge or seal a juvenile record.
