Art. 952 General applicability

This rule simply confirms that the general rules in the Children's Code still apply, even though a specific section (called a "Title") might add or change some rules for a certain type of case. Think of it as a safety net rule. It makes sure that unless a rule specifically says otherwise, the standard rules everyone follows in children's court cases stay in effect.

In practical terms, this means people involved in a juvenile or family court case cannot assume that special rules in one section erase all the other rules in the Children's Code. If a specific chapter doesn't clearly change or replace a general rule, that general rule still counts. Courts, parents, and attorneys use this rule to understand which laws apply when a specific section doesn't spell out every detail for a certain type of case.
