Art. 1112 Defendant in reconvention may bring in third person

If someone files a claim against you, and you fire back with your own claim against them (called a reconventional demand), this rule lets you pull in another person who might have to pay for that claim. This other person could be a warrantor, or really anyone who might owe you money if you end up owing money on the original claim.

In simple terms, this gives you the same right to bring in outside parties that the original defendant has. If you believe someone else should share the blame or the cost for what you're being sued over, you can add them to the case instead of dealing with them separately later.
