Art. 1392 Proof of statutes

When a court case involves laws from another state, a U.S. territory, or federal law, the judge doesn't need someone to prove those laws exist. The judge will automatically recognize and apply them, following the standards set out in Code of Evidence Article 202.

This matters because it saves time and effort in court. If your case touches on the laws of a different state or federal law, you won't need to bring in extra evidence or expert testimony just to show the judge what that law says. The judge is expected to know how to find and apply it.
