Art. 2003 Same; action lost through acquiescence

If you had a judgment entered against you and you went along with it, you lose your right to challenge it later. This happens if you accepted the judgment on your own, without being forced to. It also happens if you were in the parish when the judgment was being carried out and you did not try to stop it.

Basically, this rule stops people from sitting back and letting a judgment happen, then trying to undo it later. If you had the chance to object or fight the judgment when it was being enforced, and you did not, courts will treat that as accepting the outcome. You cannot use certain legal grounds under Article 2002 to cancel the judgment after the fact if your own actions (or lack of action) showed you agreed to it.

This rule matters because it means timing and your own conduct can cost you legal rights. If you disagree with a judgment or how it is being enforced, you need to act quickly and clearly show your objection. Waiting too long or doing nothing can lock you into a result you might otherwise have been able to challenge.
