Art. 2168 Posting of unpublished opinions; citation

When a court decides not to publish an opinion in the official reports, that opinion still has to be posted online. The Louisiana Supreme Court and the Courts of Appeal must put these unpublished opinions on their websites so people can find them.

Even though these opinions weren't published in the traditional sense, you can still use them in your own case as legal support. If you want to cite one, you need to include the case name and the number the court gave it. This helps the judge and other people involved in the case find the exact opinion you're talking about.

This rule basically makes sure that older or less common court decisions aren't hidden or hard to access. It also gives you a clear way to reference them properly if you're building an argument in court.
