Art. 2297 Alias fieri facias

If a court order to seize and sell a debtor's property (called a writ of fieri facias) doesn't fully collect the money owed, the creditor isn't stuck. They can go back and ask the court for another one of these orders, called an "alias fieri facias."

This basically gives creditors a second chance to collect a debt if the first attempt fell short. Maybe the sheriff couldn't find enough property to sell the first time, or the property found didn't cover the full amount owed. Either way, the creditor can request another writ and try again to collect what they're owed.

This process can repeat as many times as needed. As long as money is still owed and the first writ came back unsatisfied, the creditor has the right to request additional writs to keep pursuing payment.
