Art. 3244 Effect of inclusion of claim in petition or in tableau of distribution

When someone who handles a deceased person's estate lists a creditor's claim in a request to pay debts or in a formal list of how money will be paid out, the law treats that claim as valid from the start. This means the claim gets the benefit of the doubt.

If someone disagrees with the claim and wants to challenge it, they have to prove it's not valid. The person listing the claim doesn't have to prove it's correct first. The challenger carries that responsibility.

In simple terms, getting listed gives a creditor an advantage. Anyone who wants to fight that claim has to bring evidence showing why it shouldn't be paid, rather than just questioning it without proof.
