Art. 327 Seizure of rents, fruits, and revenue of property under seizure

When property gets seized by the sheriff, that seizure covers more than just the property itself. It also includes any money, crops, or income the property produces while it's under seizure. For example, if a rental house is seized, this includes any rent payments that come in during that time.

The sheriff is responsible for collecting this money. This means the sheriff must actively gather rent payments, crop proceeds, or other income the property generates for as long as it stays under seizure. The sheriff can't just seize the property and ignore the income it's producing.

This rule matters because it protects the value tied up in the seizure. Instead of letting rent or other revenue slip past the parties involved in the case, the sheriff makes sure that money is accounted for. This keeps the seized property's full value, including what it earns, available for whatever the court decides later.
