Art. 3392 Effect of judgment of discharge

Once a court approves this judgment, the person who was handling the estate (called the succession representative) is officially done with the job. They no longer have any duties to perform, no longer have responsibility for the estate, and no longer have the legal authority to act on its behalf.

In simple terms, this closes out their role for good. They can't be held accountable for what happens with the estate going forward, and they can't make decisions or take actions related to it anymore. This gives them a clean break once their work managing the succession is finished and approved by the court.
