Art. 374 Legal representative

From the moment they qualify for the position until the court releases them from it, they are considered an officer of the court.

This means the person isn't just handling private business on their own. They are working under the court's authority and oversight the entire time they serve in this role. The court can expect them to act properly and follow the rules that apply to someone in this position of trust.

This status lasts for the whole time they serve, from when they first qualify to when they are formally discharged. Until that discharge happens, they remain accountable to the court as one of its officers.
