Art. 4206 Termination of duties

When a minor turns 18 or becomes fully emancipated, the undertutor's job is finished. They no longer have any duties or authority to act on the minor's behalf once that happens.

But this doesn't erase past responsibility. If the undertutor did something wrong or failed to do their job properly while the minor was still under their watch, they can still be held accountable for that. Turning 18 or becoming emancipated only ends future duties. It does not wipe away liability for anything that happened before that point.
