Art. 4275 Donations to or by minor

A tutor is someone who legally manages a minor's property and affairs. This rule says a tutor can accept gifts that are given to the minor. For example, if someone wants to give the child money or property, the tutor can accept it on the child's behalf.

However, the rule does not let a tutor give away anything that belongs to the minor. The tutor cannot use the minor's money or property to make gifts to other people, even if the tutor thinks it's a good idea. This protects the child's property from being given away without their consent, since minors can't legally agree to such decisions themselves.

The basic idea is simple: a tutor can say yes to gifts coming in for the minor, but cannot give away anything that belongs to the minor.
