Art. 4342 Bonds and stocks

When a child's property manager (called a tutor) wants to sell bonds or stocks that belong to the minor, they can't just do it on their own. They first need to follow the steps in Article 4271 and then get a judge to approve the sale through a court order.

Once the tutor has that court order, selling the stocks or bonds becomes simple. The tutor signs off on the sale, and a certified copy of the judge's order is all that's needed to legally transfer the stocks or bonds to the buyer. This protects the child's property by making sure a judge checks and approves the sale before it happens, while also making the actual transfer process straightforward once approval is given.
