When multiple people or companies claim rights to the same money, property, or lien, the court can bring everyone together in one case to sort it out. Instead of separate lawsuits, all the people with competing claims are pulled into a single proceeding.

Each person involved has to lay out their claim in front of everyone else. This means the court hears all sides at once and decides who actually has the right to the money or property. It saves time and prevents the same dispute from being fought out in different courtrooms with possibly different results.

This type of case is often used when someone (like a bank, insurance company, or business) is holding money or property but isn't sure who should get it because more than one party is claiming it. Rather than picking a side, that holder can ask the court to settle the matter by bringing all the claimants into one case.
