Art. 5054 Clerical and typographical errors disregarded

If a rule in this Code has a typo or small clerical mistake, courts won't let that mistake get in the way of what the law is actually supposed to do. As long as it's clear what the lawmakers meant, the error doesn't matter.

This means people can't try to get out of following a rule just because of a misspelled word, wrong number, or similar small mistake in the text. Courts will look past these errors and apply the rule the way it was intended to work.

In short, small writing mistakes in the law don't create loopholes. The real meaning and purpose of the rule still counts, even if the printed text has a minor flaw.
