Art. 1 Short title; citation of Code

This rule simply names the official law book that covers criminal court procedures in Louisiana. It's called the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure, and lawyers and judges can refer to it using the short form "C.Cr.P." in legal documents.

Think of this as the cover page for a rule book. It doesn't set out any actual rights or procedures, it just establishes what the whole collection of rules is called and how people should refer to it when writing legal papers or citing the law in court.
