If a law in this code has a small typo or clerical mistake, courts don't have to treat it as a big deal. As long as it's clear what the lawmakers meant to say, that mistake gets ignored.

This matters because it stops people from trying to use minor typos or formatting errors to argue that a law doesn't apply or means something different than what was intended. For example, if a law accidentally has a wrong word or a missing letter, but everyone can tell what it was supposed to say, courts will just go with the obvious meaning. This keeps small errors from causing big legal problems or letting someone dodge a rule based on a technicality that has nothing to do with the actual law.
