Art. 19 Special sessions of court

A judge doesn't have to wait for the regular court calendar to handle criminal cases. The court can call a special session at any time, even during a vacation period when court wouldn't normally be in session.

Once a special session is called, the court can hear or try any type of criminal case during that time. This gives courts flexibility to deal with cases quickly instead of being stuck waiting for the next regular session to open.

For someone involved in a criminal case, this means your hearing or trial could be scheduled outside of the usual court calendar. It doesn't change your rights or the process, it just means the timing can be adjusted when needed to keep cases moving.
