Art. 33 Automatic discharge

When someone posts a peace bond, it doesn't stay active forever. Once the time period on the bond runs out, there's an additional 30-day window where the bond can still be enforced. If nobody starts a court proceeding to forfeit the bond during those 30 days, the bond automatically ends and becomes void.

This means the person who posted the bond doesn't have to worry about it hanging over them indefinitely. If the state or the other party wants to claim the bond was violated and try to forfeit it, they need to act quickly, within that 30-day period after the bond's original term ends. If they miss that deadline, the bond is done and can't be forfeited later.
