Art. 339 Notice of judgment

When a court signs a judgment saying someone's bail bond is forfeited, the court clerk has to let people know about it. The clerk mails a notice to each lawyer involved in the case, and if someone doesn't have a lawyer, the clerk mails the notice directly to that person instead.

The clerk also has to keep proof that this notice was sent. They do this by placing a certificate in the case file that shows the exact date the notice was mailed. This creates an official record so there's no confusion later about whether or when someone was notified.

This matters because deadlines often start ticking once notice is mailed. If you're involved in a bond forfeiture case, knowing when notice went out can affect your rights, like how much time you have to respond or file an appeal.
