Art. 358 Transfer of custody; answer

If someone in custody is moved to a different location or a different person's care before the paperwork (the writ) is officially delivered, the person who received the writ still has to respond to it. In that response, they must explain what happened to the person in custody.

Specifically, the answer needs to include the name and address of whoever now has custody, when the transfer happened, what gave them the legal right to make the transfer, and where the person is currently being held. This rule makes sure that if custody changes hands right before or during this legal process, the court and other parties can still track down exactly where the person is and who is responsible for them now.
