Art. 407 Administration of oath to witnesses

Before a witness gives testimony to the jury commission, the jury commissioner has to swear them in first. This means the witness formally promises to tell the truth before they say anything that will be used to help pick jurors.

This oath has to follow the same process laid out in Article 14, which covers how oaths are generally given in court proceedings. The point is simple: anyone speaking to the commission must first commit under oath to being honest, just like a witness would in a courtroom trial.
