Art. 491 Arts. 491, 492 Repealed by Acts 1975, No. 528, §1

This rule no longer exists. Louisiana lawmakers repealed it back in 1975 through Act 528, along with the rule right after it (Article 492).

Since these articles were removed decades ago, they have no legal effect today. If you're looking at older legal documents or case law that reference Article 491 or 492, keep in mind those rules are no longer part of Louisiana law. You'll need to check the current Code of Criminal Procedure to find whatever rules may have replaced them or to understand how the law handles that particular issue now.
