Art. 560 Change of plea of not guilty to guilty

If you've pleaded not guilty to a crime, you can change your mind later and plead guilty instead. This can happen at any point during the case, not just at the beginning.

However, this right isn't unlimited. Other rules (Articles 556 through 559) put some restrictions on how and when this change can happen, so you'd need to check those rules too before assuming you can switch your plea at any moment. In practice, courts usually still need to make sure you understand what you're doing and that you're making the choice freely before they accept a guilty plea.
