Art. 787 Disqualification of petit jurors in particular cases

If a judge has doubts about whether a potential juror can fairly or properly handle a specific case, the judge can remove that person from the jury pool for that case. This decision is left up to the judge's own judgment, and the rule doesn't list exact reasons that would count. It could be anything that makes the judge question whether the person is fit to serve, such as bias, health problems, language barriers, or an inability to understand the case.

This gives judges flexibility to keep the jury fair and make sure everyone serving is actually capable of doing the job.
