Art. 792 Selection of foreman

When a jury goes into a separate room to decide a case, the jurors first need to pick one person to lead them. This person is called the foreman. Their main jobs are to help guide the discussion while the jury talks things over and to sign the final verdict once everyone agrees on a decision.

This rule just makes sure someone is in charge of keeping the deliberation process organized. It does not say how the jury must pick this person, so the jurors can decide that among themselves, whether by a vote, volunteer, or any other method they agree on.
