Art. 811 Receipt and recordation of verdict

When a jury reaches a decision, the judge first checks that the verdict is filled out properly and matches the charges in the case. If everything looks right, the judge tells the clerk to take the verdict form and read it out loud to the jury.

After reading it, the clerk asks the jury if that is really their decision. If the jury says yes, the clerk writes down the verdict to make it official. Once that happens, the judge lets the jury go, and their job on the case is finished.

This process makes sure everyone hears the verdict clearly and confirms it before it becomes final. It also gives the jury one last chance to speak up if something is wrong before they are released.
