Art. 930.1 Judgment granting or denying relief under Articles 928, 929, and 930

When a judge makes a decision on certain post-conviction requests, everyone involved has to get a copy of that decision in writing. This includes the person who filed the request, the local prosecutor's office (the district attorney), and whoever is in charge of holding the person in custody, like a jail or prison official.

The written decision also has to explain the reasons behind it. This means the judge can't just say yes or no. The judge has to write down or have someone transcribe the reasoning so everyone understands why the request was granted or denied.

This rule makes sure all sides are kept in the loop. It gives the person who filed the request a clear record of what happened and why, which they may need if they want to appeal or take further legal action. It also keeps the prosecutor and custodian informed so they know how to proceed based on the judge's ruling.
