Art. 947 Affected court conducting emergency sessions; authority and powers

When a court has to hold emergency sessions outside its home parish because of a disaster or emergency, it doesn't lose any of its normal powers. The judges and court staff can still do everything they would normally do if they were sitting in their own courthouse.

This means the court can still handle cases, make rulings, and manage court business just like usual, even though the location has changed. People with cases in that court don't need to worry that moving to a temporary location somehow limits what the court can do. The court's authority travels with it, no matter where it has to meet during the emergency.
