Rule 2.0 Dates of Court

Each judicial district in Louisiana follows the official legal holidays, but it can also add its own local holidays on top of those. These extra local holidays are different from one district to another, so a court in one part of the state might be closed on a day when a court somewhere else is open.

If you need to know the exact dates a specific district court will be closed, you should check Appendix 2.0. This appendix lists the local holidays for each district or court, so you can plan around them when filing paperwork, showing up for hearings, or contacting the court.
