When you file for a divorce under Article 102, some courts want you to submit a checklist along with your paperwork. To finalize the divorce judgment, you generally just need to meet the requirements laid out in Article 3956(5) of the Code of Civil Procedure. This usually involves confirming that the waiting period has passed and that the other requirements for divorce have been satisfied.

Some courts also allow you to get your Article 102 divorce approved through an affidavit instead of a court hearing. This means you can sign a sworn statement confirming the facts of your case instead of appearing in person. Appendix 27.0C lists which courts allow this option, so check there to see if your court offers this simpler process.
