Rule 35.2 Hearing Officer Conference Report

When a hearing officer conference takes place in your case, the hearing officer has to write up a report about what happened. This report needs to be finished either right at the end of the conference or soon afterward.

The report has to follow specific requirements set out in Louisiana state law (La. R.S. 46:236.5(C)(5)). This means the hearing officer can't just skip this step or delay it indefinitely. Both sides in the case should expect to get a written record of what was discussed and decided at the conference within a short time after it happens.

This rule matters because it creates a paper trail for your case. If you disagree with what happened at the conference, or if you need to reference it later in court, this written report gives you something concrete to point to. It also helps keep the process fair and transparent for everyone involved.
