Rule 47.2 Administrative Fee

If you owe child support and your case goes through court enforcement, the court can charge you an extra administrative fee on top of what you already owe. This fee is separate from the actual child support payments themselves.

Each judicial district in Louisiana decides whether to charge this fee, and the amount they can charge is limited by state law (specifically La. R.S. 46:236.5). So the fee might look a little different depending on which district handles your case, but it can't go beyond what state law allows.

If you're the person paying child support (the obligor) and your case involves enforcement action, you should expect this fee to be added to your total costs. It's meant to help cover the expenses of running the child support enforcement system in that district.
