Rule 1.104 Statutory Practice Provisions

When Michigan passes a law that includes rules about how court cases must be handled, those rules can still be used in court. They stay in effect as long as they do not conflict with the official Michigan Court Rules.

If the Michigan Supreme Court later creates its own rule that covers the same topic, the court's rule takes over. The law's rule would no longer apply to that situation.
