Rule 3.704 Dismissal

If you asked the court for a personal protection order (PPO) but change your mind before the court issues it, you can ask to have your case dismissed. You do not have to pay any fee to make that request.

Once the court has already issued the PPO, you generally cannot dismiss the case on your own. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule, which are covered in a separate section (MCR 3.705).
