Rule 3.981 Minor Personal Protection Orders; Issuance; Modification; Recision; Appeal

When a court needs to create, change, or cancel a protection order for a minor, it follows the steps set out in subchapter 3.700 of the Michigan Court Rules. Those rules cover the full process from start to finish.

If someone wants to appeal a decision about a minor's protection order, two other rules apply: MCR 3.709 and MCR 3.993. Those rules explain how to challenge a court's decision through the appeals process.
