Rule 9.129 Expenses; Reimbursement

People who work on attorney discipline cases in Michigan get paid back for their out-of-pocket costs. This includes investigators, lawyers, hearing panel members, board members, neutrals, and commission members.

To get reimbursed, the expenses must be real and necessary, and they must be approved by the board, commission, or administrator. Once approved, the State Bar of Michigan pays those costs back.
