Rule 1007 Testimony or Statement of a Party to Prove Content

If you want to prove what a document, recording, or photo says, you can use a statement from the other party in your case. This could be something they said in court, in a deposition, or in writing.

When you use the other party's own words to prove what the content was, you do not have to produce or explain what happened to the original document. Their statement is enough on its own.
