Rule 29 Repealer and Severability

When these rules were put in place, they replaced all older rules and laws that used to cover attorney discipline cases in Mississippi. In other words, these new rules became the main set of rules everyone must follow, and any earlier rules on this topic no longer apply.

The rule also protects the rest of the document if one part of it ever gets struck down. If a court decides that one section is unconstitutional or invalid for some reason, that decision only affects that one section. The rest of the rules stay in effect and keep working like normal.

Finally, any future changes made to these rules become part of the same set of rules, unless the change specifically says otherwise. This keeps everything working together as one connected system instead of a bunch of separate add ons.
