Rule 1.07 Prohibition Against Presentation to Other Chancellor of Matter When Relief is Denied

If a chancellor (judge) turns down your request, you can't just take that same request to a different chancellor and hope for a better answer. Once one judge says no, the matter is closed as far as shopping it around to other judges goes.

This rule stops attorneys from "judge shopping." If you disagree with a judge's decision, the right move is to appeal or ask that same judge to reconsider, not to quietly bring the same issue in front of someone else in hopes they'll rule differently. Trying to get a second opinion this way is not allowed.

For anyone involved in a case, this means the outcome you get from a judge sticks unless you go through the proper channels to challenge it. You can't get a fresh start just by finding another judge to ask.
