Rule 1.12 Electronic Media Coverage

If you want to bring a camera, TV equipment, or other recording devices into a chancery court proceeding, you need to follow a separate set of rules made just for that purpose. This rule doesn't spell out those details itself. Instead, it points you to the Rules for Electronic and Photographic Coverage of Judicial Proceedings, which cover everything about recording court cases.

This means reporters, news stations, or anyone else wanting to record or photograph a court hearing must check those other rules first. They explain what's allowed, what's not, and what steps you need to take before bringing recording equipment into the courtroom. This rule has been in place for court proceedings starting July 1, 2003.
